So for my desktop publishing project, we have to create an image using words and text only. for example, my friend is doing the superman logo and filling the image up with lyrics from songs and quotes in the comic book etc. I need some help! i really have no idea and i’m stumped. here are some examples of image made of words:

i was thinking of doing a question mark but i don’t know what to fill the image up with =/
and the main part of this is skewing the text, font, resizing, color, and masking images onto the text as well, maybe you have ideas on that part?
thanks so much!

Try typing your huge question mark in Illustrator, then using Create Outlines to make it a path and changing both stroke and fill to nothing. Use Offset Path with small negative values to make several thinner question marks, one inside the other. With the Type on a Path tool, run your chosen words around each loop and resize the type to nest properly. (It will probably look best with a question mark drawn from a bold, rounded font.) That way you won’t have to build it brick-by-brick.

I’m starting to get really interested in art and photography and I’m wondering if anyone can give me a link or some photographer’s names that I can google or something..
I can’t really take photos of people, I don’t think any of my friends would model for me, but more still life or self portraits, but any kind of great photography would be very much appreciated!
Thankyou!
(:

Ansel Adams does AMAZING landscape photographs. He’s an oldie though, dead now… but nonetheless, he has an eye for beauty.

Frans Lanting is a top National Geographic wildlife photographer. He’s one of my favorite photographers. love wildlife, thats usually my main subject in photography :)

At Hobby Lobby they have wall art made out of material that is similar to a license plate, but the have sayings on them. Some of them were funny, some of them were inspirational. I really liked the style. Where online can I find stuff like this?

Try this online store:Metal wall art decor

for art, we are now working with clay, and we are allowed to make anything we want.
Although, i want to make something different to everyones normal peices, i want to make something from an inspirational quote of some sort. But i’m not sure what quote to use.
Also, do you know any good sites that i could look at other artists work in clay?
Thanks x :]

"Surely not in vain
My substance of the common Earth was ta’en
And to this Figure moulded, to be broke,
Or trampled back to shapeless Earth again."
- Omar Khayyam ("The Tent-Maker"),
The Rubaiyat (st. 84),
(Fitzgerald’s translation)
To illustrate this why don’t you make copies of a few (or maybe just one) of the very earliest Clay Goddess; e.g. "Snake Goddess’ http://images.google.co.il/images?hl=en&q=snake+goddess+from+knossos&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=UJO8S6SbJM-VOMXq2foH&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&ct=title&resnum=1&ved=0CBsQsAQwAA

Bob Ross was (before his death) a really famous and inspirational artist in my opinion. I’m sure you’ve seen some of his ‘How To’ painting shows on television before.

hey, calling the art people out there
im doing an art project atm, and my chosen studio area is painting.
we are doing self portrait, and im using the influence of Frida Kahlo.

id like to do a self portrait with hands/hand in the image too, as that allows you to have more detail within the final image

any inspirational ideas for my piece? using Frida Kahlo as an influence, and painting as my studio area?

Are you looking for names of some of her works for your inspirational ideas?

If you do a search to look at some of her paintings, you might find some in which she is holding animals. One such work is ‘Me and My Parrots’, 1941.

Another self-portrait that shows her hands is ‘Self-Portrait with Cropped Hair’, 1948. In it she is wearing pant and a suit jacket, looking like a pant suit, which was just a bit ahead of its day and had almost an ‘avante-garde’ look that was once captured by Vogue magazine. the hair could be tied back. It would not have to be cut, for sure. Both her hands are showing in this one.

The picture she has painted of herself holding someone in her arms, titled in Spanish ‘El Abrazo de Amor del Universo, la Tierra (México), Diego,Yo y el Sr. Xoloti’, 1949, shows a few pairs of hands of different sizes.

If you look among her self-portraits with monkeys you hopefully will find some inspirational ideas with hands in the picture, depending on how prominent you wish the hands to be.

so im wondering what art work of Van Gogh do you think is the most inspiring, and why do you think this?
i am doing some research about him, and peoples opinions of him, and finding out about the inspiration his paintings give seemed a good place to start,
Personally, i believe Sunflowers gives me the most inspiration, as the flower is bright, even though it always looks dead. it shows you can make light of sad events, and that sad events can always bring light. (:

For me, it has to be Vincent’s painting of the Church at Auvers.
Vincent wanted to be a priest above all other things. He was deeply religious, but was prone to bouts of depression and this is why the Catholic Church refused him entry to the priesthood.
Take a look at the painting, it reflects Vincent’s dissapointment at being turned away by the Catholic Church.
He paints a church without a door, a church with no way in. He stands outside in the cold and rain, rejected by the world and the world he wanted to belong to. The emotions that this picture generates are incredible, truly incredible.
