Truly inspirational and beautiful photography?

I’m starting to get really interested in art and photography and I’m wondering if anyone can give me a link or some photographer’s names that I can google or something..
I can’t really take photos of people, I don’t think any of my friends would model for me, but more still life or self portraits, but any kind of great photography would be very much appreciated!
Thankyou!
(:

Ansel Adams does AMAZING landscape photographs. He’s an oldie though, dead now… but nonetheless, he has an eye for beauty.

Frans Lanting is a top National Geographic wildlife photographer. He’s one of my favorite photographers. love wildlife, thats usually my main subject in photography :)

there are many photography sites where you can learn so much by yourself. http://www.photography-on-the.net is one of the best one where you can start your photography interest.

Diane Arbus is worth looking at, she looked for people to photograph in the street, and arround her. If you are interested in photographing people you defiantly do not need your friends to ‘model’ for you, people in day-to-day life are usually quite interested if you say you are studying art and working on a portfolio and ask for permission to take their photo. Or if you are feeling adventurous just snap away and walk on.

If you like still life, or images of the mundane, look at Martin Parr, he photographs things he encounters in everyday life and implies humor or beauty simply by addressing them with his camera. He is great if you want to think about how to turn something seemingly irrelevant into something of interest or Beauty.

    Look through http://www.photo.net

There are different categories in the galleries and the majority of the photography on there is excellent.

While you will find some nice stuff on the web, to me, seeing the photography in books is still the way to go. Head to the library - there are some gorgeous oversized books about any subject you are interested in.

The best thing to do is to head to art galleries or contemporary art museums. Sometimes photography or art schools have permanent displays that are available to the public for free.

You would be surprised at the number of park districts that make space available for local photographers to display their images. A very worthwhile experience.
